Kat Blitz is a native of the South Bay of Los Angeles County and has loved all animals, especially dogs since her childhood and she could not imagine not having animals in her life. While growing up, her mom was involved in animal rescue and she assisted with the care of these animals. This provided the ground work for learning about their distinct personalities and needs. She has been in the professional pet care business for over 15 years. Beach Cities Critter Care was formed because of her passion for caring for animals of all kinds.
Kat is a Certified Professional Pet Sitter through Pet Sitters International as well as being a member of several pet sitter associations. Along with being trained and certified in pet first aid & CPR, she is also skilled at administrating oral and injected medication and providing special needs services. She has experience working with exotic and wild animals through her training at various wild animal rescue facilities.
Kat is also has extensive training in the disaster response field and is a member of the Southern California Animal Response Team and the American Red Cross Disaster Response Team.
Her husband Dave, grew up on horse property in Rancho Palos Verdes, CA. His family had many animals which included horses, chickens, ducks, dogs & cats, and even a monkey! He spent most of his early mornings while growing up taking care of these animals for his mom, who was an avid animal rescuer.
Besides taking care of dogs and cats, Beach Cities Critter Care is an experienced provider for small animals, reptiles, fish, farm animals and horses.
When not busy hanging out with her client's critters, Kat and Dave enjoy spending time with their daughter Katelynn, traveling and hanging out with Max, their Chug (Chihuahua/Pug) and their cats. All rescued from a local animal shelter.
